Unsecured Credit Card

In The Credit Repair Black Book, you will learn credit repair secrets from an industry insider. Mark Kennedy, a 20-year credit and financial services industry veteran, shares how to repair your problem credit, rebuild your credit profile and get you back on the path to credit freedom. Mr. Kennedy reveals the secrets and tactics that the credit bureaus have tried to keep secret for years. Finally, the greatest credit score myths are revealed, along with proven, legal strategies on how to repair your credit. Included are topics such as understanding your credit report, how to legally remove any type of adverse credit from a consumer credit report, how to avoid the biggest credit traps, secrets for raising your credit score (no matter bad your credit is) and legally restoring your credit profile. And much more. Also included are over 100 credit repair tips and tactics.

About the AuthorMark Kennedy first entered the financial services industry in 1991 and helped open his first mortgage company in 1993. In 2000 he became a partner in one of the nation’s largest specialty mortgage companies. By 2005, he was being called upon to provide consulting services to banks and lenders nationwide that needed his expertise in marketing, customer service and process management. Over the course of two decades, he has helped thousands of individuals and families buy or build their dream homes. Often, his clients come to him with credit issues or other problems that caused them to be previously denied loans. His expertise and willingness to take on the bureaus at their own game created credit approvals and helped his clients take their first steps to credit freedom. With his 20+ years as a mortgage and financing professional, Mark has learned credit secrets that only a few industry insiders know (and even fewer share). He loves nothing more than to expose the secrets and myths of the financing and credit world. And, although the credit bureaus may not like it, his clients appreciate the honesty and candor with which he approaches his business. The first edition of The Credit Repair Black Book (first edition, 2005) was wildly popular among consumers (and equally hated by the “fat cats” in credit industry). Now in its third update and printing (December, 2011), this book continues to provide the most current information available on credit repair and credit preservation – all while continuing to expose the myths and secrets of the credit bureaus.

Credit Card 0 Apr

A first credit card can be very exciting. But, along with its use comes huge financial responsibility. This is not meant to be killjoy, just sound advice so you’ll get a proper handle of things from the very start. With sound advice you can avoid difficult credit card problems in future and keep enjoying the perks that a good credit card can give you. The most important detail to remember is that a credit card is borrowed money. So, as we’ve been taught once upon a time, we have the obligation to return what we borrow. To be able to return what we borrow, in the time and terms we agreed when we accepted the credit card contract, we borrow only what we can afford to return. Borrowing from your credit card and paying the amount in the approved manner can help build your good credit rating and save you from a load of credit card debts in the long run. Hence, for the first-time credit card user it becomes important to understand how your credit card works so you can use it well. This book will give information on choosing the best credit card deal and applying for the right credit card.
The phone fits in the unit very well and acts as a protective case. It can be removed quickly and easily if necessary.

The unit operates as advertised. Excellent mobile credit card acceptance device. Works great with quickbooks merchant service “GoPayment” account. Much less expensive than a dedicated credit card swiper device and your money goes directly into your bank account. No waiting to download info to bank or extended wait periods like other systems.

After learning some tips on how to operate the device, it was a breeze. Just make sure that the volume is turned up, and that you swipe quickly, then the card should be accepted, and should not have to be keyed in. If swiped, you pay 1.7% to the credit card company, if keyed in, you pay 3% of the sale. Turn up the volume on your iPhone, and swipe quickly. If it still doesn’t work, get near the window so that you have more bars, or a good service. That should help too. One more thing — watch that you order for 3G or 4G iPhone. Apple sells this only for the 3G iPhone — Amazon has it for both.

This edition also adds simple graphics revealing exactly how much skipped payments, bankruptcies, and other actions will lower your scores, and how long it takes to rebound. You’ll find new information on “FAKO” alternative scores… expanded coverage of short sales, foreclosures, the new FICO 8 Mortgage Score, and when to “walk away” from a mortgage… guidance on protecting yourself against new credit risks from social networking and mobile banking… expanded coverage of credit scoring by insurers… and an all-new chapter on safeguarding against unethical or illegal use of credit scores by employers.
9 of 10 people found the following review helpful.
Sound financial advice for those in credit distress!
By Dad5
Your Credit Score by Liz Weston provides sound financial advice in an accessible, readable presentation; with the first half of the book dedicated to a discussion of how credit scores are compiled and how to manage your credit scores. The second half of the book has a less general application, but is must reading for those with credit issues, particularly those seeking to rebuild a damaged credit history. The potential impact of credit scores on insurance premiums and the job search may also come as a surprise to readers.

I would suggest, however, that if the reader’s primary interest is the FICO score, they should first check out Understanding Your FICO Score, a 20-page booklet available free on the myfico.com website. This covers much of the material in Chapters 1 and 2 of Your Credit Score. If you want to learn more, I would then turn to Weston’s book.

Readers who paid for a credit score online, expecting a FICO score, but receiving a VantageScore instead, will be particularly interested in Weston’s Chapter 3. While the three major credit bureaus promote VantageScore as a superior alternative to FICO, Weston provides some valuable insights on the VantageScore vis-a-vis FICO; Weston also indicates free sources for VantageScore, saving the reader a typical $7.95 (or more) that many pay for this score.

So, my only caution to readers is that about one-half of the book has general applications for all readers and the other half is primarily relevant to those in financial distress. If you are not facing credit issues, you may wish to closely examine the Table of Contents to determine if Your Credit Score is right for you.

Goes in depth about how credit scores are calculated and how they are affected. Because of this I think this would be great for teens, or college students.
The ways to improve your credit score are nothing new if you are fairly knowledgable about credit. It reinterates many of the basic tips that most are familiar with like ensuring there are no errors on your credit report and paying your bills on time.
I think this book would provide any person with some knowledge about credit and help those who have serious credit problems with a way to organize their clean-up game plan.
Worth reading for all.

Sanchez
Not knowing where to start untangling the mess I’d made for myself and way too embarrassed, even ashamed, to ask for help kept me living in vagueness, not ever adding up the numbers. Managing Debt for Dummies made it safe to come out from under the covers and look at my financial situation. Ventura and Reed not only have a friendly, non-judgmental tone to their advice, they break the road to solvency down into manageable pieces and guide us forward step by step. It most reminds me of the feeling I had as my dad ran alongside my bike the first rides after removing the training wheels. The fear is still there, but knowing he’s there to guide me, I’m able to take the risk, all the time feeling an eminent sense of independence.

Managing Debt for Dummies is no exception. It covers everything from basic budgeting to how to avoid eviction. I’ve been in the consumer education field for a long time now and I can attest that the strategies and resources listed are reliable and useful.

The chapter on Managing Your Past-Due Mortgage is going to be especially relevant as billions of dollars in adjustable rate mortgages begin to reset. Likewise, I know a lot of people are having trouble paying back student loans, and the information there is also clear and straightforward.

Overall, this book is coming out at the right time, and I have no doubt many, many people are going to find it indispensible.

13 of 13 people found the following review helpful.
Almost love it
By Tara
Since I always carry a large handbag, but my phone is always in an easily accessible pocket, I was looking for a case that could also hold my train tickets & Starbucks card or driver’s license & train tickets depending so the things I need quickly wouldn’t require me to dig around in my bag. This absolutely fit the bill. The case is substantial and really offers protection, it even comes with a screen protector. I can easily stash a couple of cards in the compartment and when I’m home I can use the door as a stand so I can watch movies on my phone. It’s exactly what I wanted and I was thrilled. Unfortunately the first night I went out and used it- I was showing it off and everyone was complimenting it- I discovered trying to take pictures was pretty impossible. The hole for the camera is too small and causes a purple haze across the whole picture when the flash goes off. It doesn’t effect the front camera. And it’s okay if you can take the picture without a flash which is why it took me a few days to discover the problem. All night I had to pull my phone out of the case if I wanted to take a flash picture (and no flash wasn’t an option). Essentially that is useless because I almost lost my train ticket every time I had to do this plus I had to put my phone on the sticky bar table.

So I would say if you don’t use your camera often in any kind of low light situation, this is a great case. But if you plan on being able to take pictures easily at all times this might not be the best option. For me I think I’ll search for something else to switch to for nights I plan on going out (I always take pictures).

It is sturdy and looks really good. The holder is really awesome! One problem is that the when you take a picture with flash, it reflects on the inside of the case and the picture turns out blurry. This is why I made it four stars instead of five! Otherwise it would be perfect.

I’m not big on purses, and I usually just carry my 3 cards, phone and lip gloss, so it’s perfect. My only issue with the case is that, when taking pictures, it gives the photo a pinkish/purpleish tinge in the corner(s) (because that is the color of my case). One way I’ve found to correct that is to color/paint the area, of the case (that surrounds the camera), black. It works, as long as you don’t take pictures in poor/no lighting. Aside from this, it’s a great case and I get compliments on it all the time.
